What was your initial reaction to the election? Absolute horror, I cried for like a week it’s just scary. What did you do to cope with those feelings? Signed up for some rallies, and community groups, I’m from Brooklyn so Brad Lander’s been organizing some things. How have your feelings changed between the election and now? Still scared but I feel like the way people are mobilizing this, it makes me less scared for the future. What has been the impact of being with other people and coming to rallies been? Makes me feel like I’m not alone, I’m not crazy. I’m from Long Island which is very conservative so it’s nice to be with people who see how scary this is. What do you hope to achieve out of attending this rally and other ones? I want the president-elect to see who feels betrayed already just by like the couple weeks he’s had, plus his campaign and that we’re not going away. So if he’s going to try to do anything we’re going to fight it. I want him to see it since he’s here in New York especially. |
